Custom Guitars --Building Cooperative
Sue Spray Woodworks is proud to sponsor a lutherie
cooperative developed to give craftsmen space and tools to
build exceptional stringed instruments. Each luthier agrees to
build a guitar or other stringed instrument to be donated to
Greater Good Business for every instrument they build for
themselves. Luthiers are also expected to participate in jig and
fixture development and construction and to assist each other
in continued improvement of the instruments created. Sue
Spray Woodworks provides up front funding for the building
materials as well as the use of woodworking equipment and
space to work. Costs for materials and shop expenses are
recovered upon sale of the guitars and remaining proceeds are
donated. Stringed instruments are sold through word of mouth
advertising, at private and public art exhibitions, and art
festivals.
Occasionally an instrument will be offered for a charity raffle
or auction.
